ACCESS TO KRAKOW

Krakow is located 300 km south of Warsaw and has very good air, train and road connections.
 
 
ARRIVING BY CAR:
 
The A4 motorway, via Wroclaw and Katowice, leads to Krakow from Western Europe. Three traffic restriction zones (A,B,C) are obligatory in the city. Most of offered hotels are situated in the A and B zones, very close to the conference venue. 
It is necessary to pay parking fees within these three zones. Parking cars in these zones without payment of parking fees is prohibited, except for vehicles belonging to persons or organizations granted free access and parking public transportation vehicles in designated area. 
The International Cultural Centre (conference venue) is situated within A zone. Parking is permitted only in designed areas. Absolute priority is given to pedestrians and the maximum driving speed should not exceed 20km/h. We strongly suggest leaving your car on the hotel parking and use the public transportation or walk.

Krakow Airport

 
Krakow has direct air connections with: Amsterdam, Berlin, Bonn / Cologne, Budapest, Copenhagen, Chicago, Dortmund, Dublin, Frankfurt, Glasgow, London, Milan, Munich,  Oslo, Paris, Prague, Rome, Stuttgart, Tel Aviv, Warsaw, Vienna, Zurich, in season Chania, Heraklion, Rhodes.
John Paul II Krakow Balice Airport is modern and easy to navigate. There is 24hr currency exchange office as well as ATM's (bankomat) provided by PKO bank and tourist information. 

 How to get to the city centre:

  • public bus (line number 292, the drop off bus stop Cracovia Błonia,
    then c.a. 10 minute walk).

  • radio taxi 919 – cost c.a. 80 PLN (Monday – Saturday 6:00– 22:00) and c.a. 120 PLN (Monday – Saturday 22:00– 6:00 and on Sunday)

Officially licensed taxis stand outside the main entrance. Distance to the city centre c.a. 11km.

 
There is also Katowice-Pyrzowice Airport located around 100km away from Krakow city centre.
There are regular bus connections between this airport and Krakow (every 1,5h; the ticket price
c.a. 50 PLN).

 

ARRIVING BY TRAIN:
 
The main railway station (Dworzec Główny) is conveniently situated in the very centre of the city.
There is a good train connection between Warszawa and Krakow (express or Inter City trains go every hour during day, journey lasts less than 3hr-). Krakow has direct connections with: Berlin, Bucurest, Budapest, Kiev, Odessa, Prague, Vienna. Taxi stand you will find outside the main entrance as well as at the top floor car park.
